The October 2016 Print of the Month is entitled "Boys will be Boys." No, these two polar bears are not locked in mortal combat. Rather, they are playing much like how dogs play when the wrestle. Polar bears can be very sociable with each other, and will often have playful interactions with unrelated bears. Here, I was out with Steve Kaslowski and Agook Arctic Aventures in the remote, northeast Alaska village of Kaktovik. The image was captured from a boat at a distance of about 90 feet using a Nikon D800E camera and a Nikkor 200-400 f/4.0 AFS VR lens with a 1.4X teleconverter, handheld.
