Jayne Johnston earned her Bachelor of Arts in environmental studies from Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) in southwest Florida. Following graduation, she applied her degree in her roles as the panther outreach specialist and a wildlife assistance biologist with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). She currently engages the public on wildlife conflict issues serving as the panther outreach coordinator with the Defenders of Wildlife and the education and outreach contractor for FWC’s Bear Management Program. Her passion for communicating science to the public drove her to establish her own business – Wildlife Coexistence Solutions. As the name implies, Jayne assists residents on finding peaceful solutions to their wildlife issues. Additionally, she offers presentations and interpretive walks with communities and makes “house calls” to advise residents on promoting coexistence with wildlife in their own yards. She is a passionate conservationist, environmental educator, and thrilled to join the fStop Foundation supporting their coexistence goals! In her free time, she enjoys birds, birds, and birds.
