Zach Steinhauser

A South Carolina native, Zach wanders the rich floodplain forests looking to capture ancient moments of nature in new & intriguing ways. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in Wildlife Ecology & Conservation. He resides outside of Columbia, SC working as a Naturalist at a garden center educating homeowners how they can garden & conserve local wildlife in their very own yard. He uses his photography of “backyard wildlife” & native plants to encourage customers to plant natives around their house essentially creating suitable habitat for wildlife. When he’s not working with gardeners, you can find him on Lake Murray guiding tours to North America’s largest Purple Martin migration roost. His photography has been used by conservation groups across South Carolina like the South Carolina Wildlife Federation, Audubon SC, and South Carolina Dept. of Natural Resources.
